A TAILOR-MADE HOLIDAY DESIGNED BY SPECIALISTS
At ÃÛÌÒ´«Ã½¹ÙÍø, all our holidays are created individually to suit your preferences and the Ultimate Brazil itinerary can be used for inspiration or as a starting point for your luxury Brazil holidays. Whether you prefer a different style of accommodation, a greater focus on a particular experience or wish to include extra stops on your journey, our experts will design an itinerary that is entirely unique to you.
ABOUT THE ITINERARY
Brazil is a country packed with must-experience attractions.
You must, for example, take part in an impromptu party of the world-renowned Copacabana Beach, or stroll along the water’s edge on Ipanema. You have to share the stunning view over Rio de Janeiro with the statue of Christ the Redeemer and you must visit the Iguassu Falls – on foot, by boat, or in a helicopter.
Similarly you will not be able to resist exploring the vast plains of the Pantanal, with its huge array of animals, reptiles and birds. And then there is the old capital of Salvador, a split level colonial city connected by lifts.
Our Ultimate Brazil holiday itinerary looks to showcase the diversity of the country, whilst staying in some of its most luxurious and unique hotels and lodges.
Spend the day tracking Jaguars in the Pantanal, explore the mighty Iguassu Falls with your own private guide and stay at a picturesque farm in the rolling hills of Minais Gerais, enjoying beautifully fresh food, picked from the gardens that morning. End your luxury holiday to Brazil at the sleepy, but exclusive beach resort of Trancoso on the Atlantic coast.
For those looking to see Brazil in style, then this really is the ‘Ultimate’ way to do it.
PANTANAL
Arrive into Campo Grande, the entry point to the southern Pantanal in Brazil and the largest wetland on earth.
You will be staying at Caiman, a luxury lodge and former cattle farm, which is now an important centre for nature conservation projects.
The area is famous for wildlife including anteaters, armadillo, caiman and monkeys, but it is the lodge’s world-leading jaguar habituation program which makes it so special. The Onçafari is unique in South America and offers visitors an opportunity to track jaguars in an Africa style jeep safari. Farmers hunt jaguar in the Pantanal and their numbers have seen a rapid decline, but the Onçafari has helped to protect the species and inform locals of their importance to the eco-system.
Stay: Four nights at Caiman – full-board
SÃO PAULO
Fly to São Paulo, Brazil’s largest city and financial centre. It’s often only used for its airports, but does have some wonderful architecture. It also has some of the best restaurants in all of Latin America!
Whilst in the city you can discover the vibrant street art, parks and architecture which makes the city so popular with locals and tourists.
Stay: One night at the Fasano São Paulo – Bed & breakfast
IGUASSU FALLS
After breakfast you will board a short flight to the world famous Iguassu Falls.
A UNESCO World Heritage site featuring over 200 streams that suddenly emerge from the jungle to crash over vast chasms, this is one of Brazil’s greatest natural spectacles. Your time here is spent exploring the national parks, discovering the tropical wildlife that calls this area home and of course marvelling at the waterfalls. There are trails, boat trips and even helicopter rides to show you this majestic area.
You will be staying at Awasi Iguazú on the Argentine side of the Falls. The most exclusive hotel in the area and the only hotel where guests are assigned their own guide with their room. Enjoy spectacular daily activities into the jungle and to the waterfalls, with equisite food and drink whilst back at the hotel.
Stay: Three nights at Awasi Iguazú – all-inclusive
RIO DE JANEIRO
Fly to Rio de Janeiro, one of the most iconic cities in all of South America and the starting point for your travels through Brazil.
Known as ‘Cidade Maravilhosa’ (Marvellous City), Rio de Janeiro is the second largest city in Brazil but hands-down the most vibrant. Famous for Copacabana and Ipanema beaches, Christ the Redeemer Statue and the picturesque Sugar Loaf Mountain, its landmarks and vivacious locals make it one of the most electric cities in all of the world.
Your hotel overlooks the iconic Copacabana beach and you’ll find yourself superbly positioned for exploring the city.
Stay: Three nights at the Belmond Copacabana Palace Hotel – bed & breakfast
MINAS GERAIS
From the bright lights and lively atmosphere of Rio de Janeiro, you will be driven out of the city and into the hills and countryside of Minas Gerais.
Your home for the next three nights is Comuna de Ibitipoca. An inspiring, ambitious 5000 hectare private conservation and sustainability initiative, aimed at the reforestation of native flora species and wildlife corridors.
Dating from 1715, the traditional farmhouse was rebuilt and offers its guest a beautifully authentic setting to explore the surrounding waterfalls and mountains. There is a restaurant, Spa, sauna and hydro-massage pool. Meals are freshly prepared using ingredients from the gardens.
The farm has its own stables and guests can explore the surrounding countryside on horseback, foot or 4×4.
Stay: Three nights at Comuna do Ibitipoca – full-board
SALVADOR
Fly to Salvador, which was once the colonial capital of Brazil.
The city has retained much of its period charm, as well as its African soul, imported when slaves were brought over to work in the booming sugarcane and cocoa plantations.
The steep, cobbled streets and split levels connected by lifts, the grand colonial buildings and the views over the horizon-wide Todos dos Santos Bay will make your visit to this UNESCO World Heritage Site unforgettable.
Stay: Three nights at Villa Bahia – bed & breakfast
TRANCOSO
Fly to Porto Seguro, where you’ll be within easy reach of the trendy beach town of Trancoso.
A charming fishing village that has evolved into a mecca for well-heeled Brazilians, Trancoso is the perfect place to relax before flying home.
Life here revolves around the quaint square with its collection of little shops, good restaurants and opportunities to people-watch. Great beaches and a truly picturesque coastline are just a short trip away.
